Crispin’s Loading Dock software is used to ingest file based media into the Node, and serves as nearline storage for the Node. Crispin and ProTrack will both make requests to Loading Dock for files to be delivered to the Harmonic devices.

Log-in Credentials

The credentials for LoadingDock can be found in the NOPS documentation provided by Crispin during your training. You can also contact the PMM NOC for assistance if you are having issues logging in.

Media Job Status Tab

The media job status tab will show a history of file transfers of new material, initiated by Dub Requests from ProTrack, purge requests from ProTrack, and pull requests to deliver files to the Harmonic Devices. In progress tasks can be tracked from this page.

The results displayed can be adjusted by choosing between ‘all’, ‘in progress’, or ‘error’ from the ‘Show’ dropdown in the middle of the menu bar.

 You can also search through the requests by clicking on the plus sign on the right hand side of the bar. You can search for an item based on submission date, material id, the service that requested it, or the completion status.

Media will typically display the following status:

• “Media Registration” is a request from Traffic to “Dub” (Move) the clip from Aspera Cache to the Crispin Nearline. It will have a completion status of one of the following:
  
  
• “Media Import Successful” indicates that the job has completed, and Traffic was sent a Media Update indicating that this new copy exists on the Nearline.
• “Media Import Failed: Clip not Available” Indicates that we were not able to find the file on the Aspera Cache that was requested to be transferred.

• “Media Transfer” Can be requested by Traffic (Originator will be” Pull list”) ahead of time, or From Automation (Originator will be “AutoRestore” if it came from Automation). If it comes from Automation, it means that our System scanned the currently loaded log, and auto-restored clips that were not already on the Playback Server.
  
  
• “Complete” means it was successful.
• “Restore Media Does not exist in LoadingDock” indicates that the requested clip didn’t exist on Nearline.
  
  
• “Media Delete” Is a Request for the Nearline copy to be Purged. It will indicate “Purge Complete” When the delete is carried out.

To see more details about an event, click the select bubble in the left hand column, and then click the details button at the top in the Action section. You can also restart an event by selecting it and then clicking the retry button.
