This is the Asset Management system. It consists of the following:
Assetbase/BXF Service – The Crispin Assetbase is installed on this as part of the Crispin BXF Endpoint for communication between Automation and the (Myers) Traffic System. It consists of the following:
- Assetbase – A SQL Database being utilized by the Crispin BXF Endpoint. It is used to track Playback Assets/Copies in the System.
- BXFService – The Crispin BXF Endpoint. This is a Windows Service that communicates with the Traffic System. It receives Playlists and Record Schedules sent by Traffic, and also notifies Traffic of Content Updates/Deletions. It forwards File movement Tasks that are received from Traffic to the Crispin Loading Dock.
- ClipCopX – This is a background Application used to Monitor the available content in the Playback Server. It keeps the Assetbase DB up to date.
- Crispin System Monitor – Windows service responsible for maintaining auto-protect DS failover system.
This is the System2000/On-Air playback system. It consists of the following:
The Primary Crispin EventServer/DeviceServer are running on this machine, and act as the controlling Systems interacting with other system devices – including:
- Harmonic Video Server with Ports assignments / names as follows:
- (1) Utah Scientific Router Control System to be used with the Record Schedule, as well as to expand the available live sources of the On-Air Playback Channels (The Router Input of the Harmonic Channel Ports are fed by the Router to pass through any Live source with Branding).
RapidPlayX2000 - NOTE: This application is required to run on this machine for Playback Schedules to be automatically loaded. It and TurboBrowser are also configured to run on workstations in Master Control for User Interactions. It is there that they will mainly be run/accessed (But this instance of the RPX Client must still be running).
This is the System2000/On-Air playback system. It consists of the following:
The Standby Crispin EventServer/DeviceServer are running on this machine, and act as the controlling Systems interacting with other system devices noted in the WMPN-DS1 section above.
BACKUP Assetbase/BXF Service – This software is only intended to run if there is a failure on the AB server. The Crispin Assetbase is installed on this as part of the Crispin BXF Endpoint for communication between Automation and the (Myers) Traffic System.
BACKUP Crispin System Monitor
- Windows service responsible for maintaining auto-protect DS failover system. Will operate as primary if System Monitor on WMPN-AB fails.
This is the Crispin Loading Dock, which is Crispin’s Central Ingest Solution. It is being utilized as the File based Ingest System from Aspera.
NOTE: The Aspera Cache directory is mounted by the Aspera server at your site.
The Nearline Drive = E: on Loading Dock Server.
It also incorporates a Nearline system for Storage of up to 10 days of Playback Content. The System Consists of:
LoadingDock/LoadingDock Service
- Loading Dock consists of a Web/SQL Based application that allows a user to monitor Requests received from Traffic, as well as System triggered background Jobs (Such as Auto-movement of playback material from Nearline to Video Server),
- LoadingDock Service accompanies the LoadingDock DB and works with various parts of the system to carry out requests.
ClipCopX
- Handles auto-restoring material from Nearline server to playback servers (MediaDecks). This is done by looking in an active playlist to determine what needs to be restored.
GoodSync
- Third party software which manages copying graphics from a shared folder into gfx.dir on each MediaDeck.
