Join in Progress will be used when a live event has run beyond the originally scheduled time and the station decides to start playing an event from somewhere in the middle instead of cutting it off at the end. Crispin’s Join in Progress feature will automatically adjust the Start of Message (SOM) for the program that will be joined in progress.

JIP Configuration

  1. Review the list to find an event that is to be joined in progress. In this case, we are joining SESAME STREET in progress.

2.  Double click on that item. Change the FCC Type (Traffic Tab) to JP. This must be typed manually, it does not appear in the dropdown. Click OK.

3. On the playlist, the original event will be changed to a Comment event with blue slashes through the Material ID. There will now be a new event displaying the new SOM for the event. This is the time where the event will start into the event, calculated by RapidPlayX.

The Traffic Start Time still displays the same time. The Event Start Time now shows the proper start time for that event. The SOM has been added after calculating how far into the event the list will be starting. The SOM will change if the Live event goes longer than scheduled in this list. The SOM will appear once the list is on a follow End Method event. The operator will not see the SOM until they are out of a Manual End event and into a standard event where the system can do a proper calculation.
