How do I check feeds for sIX?

Unlike NRT, PBS will not be offering a feed schedule for content that will be available in sIX. The NOC will have visibility into what we should be expecting to become available for download from sIX. When an entry for media is added to the sIX system, ProTrack will become aware of the entry and add it to our inventory from which we can see specifically when the file is expected to be available for download.

How does remote media appear to nodes in ProTrack?

When ProTrack becomes aware of a new entry in the sIX system, a media attachment will be automatically generated in the NOC ProTrack system, and therefore be viewable to nodes in the RMT Media section of the Media Information window in your ProTrack system. We usually see entries populate for content in sIX 2-3 months out.

How does the NOC acquire media from sIX?

All content that is offered in sIX has a download window in which it can be pulled down to the NOC. As soon as media has a valid download window, ProTrack will initiate a download request for the file down to the NOC. Once the file is downloaded to the NOC, it will be run through our normal QC process and be made available in Ci.

How do download windows affect PMM nodes?

The download windows are in place in order to better manage rights and revisions for media offered over sIX. The NOC will not be able to download content until the window for the media is available. This means if a site has a revision scheduled before the download window opens, the NOC will not have access to this content until that time. Note that the current PMM logic will still be in place for revisions, meaning if a newer version becomes available for a scheduled program, the media maintenance routine in ProTrack will update the air date to use the newer version.
