To publish logs to Crispin Automation, follow the steps below:
Open the Generate Playlist menu by going to Logs→ Automation Interface→ Crispin BXF Playlist
Select the channel(s) you wish to export logs for by entering "Y" in the "Channel(s)" field and hitting the tab key. This will bring up a separate window with your configured channels. Select all channels which you wish to send to automation by checking the box to the left of them and clicking "Ok".
Select the date which you want to publish logs for. Note you can only publish a single day at a time. Select the available options when necessary,
Options:
Save XML file to local machine? - This will be un-checked by default. This option will save an XML file to your computer and will not send the file to automation. This may be used in cases where there is a disconnect in the communication between ProTrack and the automation system, so saving the file locally allows the playlist to be delivered to automation in a different way. This file can be emailed or copied to a USB drive and brought to automation. This is also useful for viewing what information was sent to automation from ProTrack, if there was ever a question about the content automation received. As mentioned, this will not send the file to automation, leave this un-checked to send the file.
Send segment info (no rollup)? - If your playlist has segmented programs, this option will send the segment information to automation. This is checked as a default. If a user's automation vendor doesn't support segments or the segment information doesn't exist in automation, users may need to leave this box un-checked so the segments are 'rolled up' into one segment before being sent to automation.
Send break reel components? - Sites who use break reels will want to have this option checked, which is the default. Sites that do not use it can leave the box checked, and it won't affect the playlist generation. Though break reels are a throwback to the time when most content played from tape, they can still be useful in a server environment if a site uses the same break elements over and over in a given time period.
