Starting July 30, 2020, media that has not had any activity in last 18 months will be pushed to Glacier storage in the PMM Production Workspace. Activity would include if the media is downloaded, restored from archive, untrashed, added to a MediaBox or added to a WorkSession.

Files that have been archived will still be visible in the Ci workspace but will have an icon in the bottom left corner as seen below

Archived content can still be previewed and can also be sent in a MediaBox, however it cannot be downloaded until it is restored to the workspace. When media is scheduled to air at your station, ProTrack will issue a pull request for content 2-3 days prior to your scheduled air date. Upon the first attempt made to pull the content, Ci will automatically kick off a restore of the content. Although the initial pull request from ProTrack will fail, it will continue to retry the download every 2 hours until the media is restored where it will then be downloaded to your system. Other downloads will continue to process in the meantime as the Media Maintenance routines run on your system. Restores can take anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on the size of the media.

If you wish to manually download content that is archived, you can initiate a restore through the Ci interface. You also have the option to expedite the restore, which will restore the file within minutes depending on the size of the media. To initiate this select the asset or assets in Ci you want to restore. You can then either select the archive icon from the top menu bar then select Restore

You can also select the 3 dots on the bottom right of the asset or assets and select Restore

You will then see the Restore File menu appear. For the type of restore you should select Permanent Restore. This will keep the media in the workspace until it meets the criteria of the storage policy set for the workspace. A temporary restore will re-archive the media after 2 days. To expedite the store, select the check-box next to "Yes, I would like to expedite the restore of eligible files"
