RPX Event Properties Window Fields

Event Type: Controls what type of event this will be. Normal values are:

Comment. This event is visible to users, ignored in the lsit.

Offset Start – Used to start a secondary a set time after the primary has begun

OE

Offset End – Used to start a secondary event a set time before the end of a primary event

 

Secondary Type: Controls what type of Secondary event is playing. Field is left blank for Primary events, VK is used for videokeys, and field is left blank for GPO events.

 


 

Duration Source: Determines what the source of the duration of the event is. Normal values are:

Meaning

M

Metadata – Crispin will use the duration present in the metadata in AssetBase to determine the length.

D

Device – Crispin will use the duration present in the media on the playback device to determine the event length.

P

Playlist – The duration in the event in the playlist will be used. VK secondary events must use this value.

 

Event Date: The date of the event. Can be left blank when creating new event. Necessary for Record events, defaults to the current day’s date.

Event Start Time: Start time for the event. This will be used if start method is Clock.

Event Duration: If the duration source is set to P, this field will define the length of the event. If another duration source is used, this field will be updated with the information from that source when the event properties window is closed. Must be fully filled in when creating new event.

SOM: Start of message for the event.

EOM: End of message for the event.

 


Start Method: Determines how the event will be started. Normal values are:

Clock Start – Event will start at the Event Start Time.

F(default)

Follow Start – Event will automatically start at the end of the last event.

M

Manual Start – Event must be manually started, either by hitting Play Next in RPX or on the Key Shot.

 


End Method: Determines how the event will be ended.

D(default)

Duration – The event will play into the next event, using the duration of the event.

M

Manual – The event will stop at the end, waiting for user intervention.

 

Start Action: What the event will do when started. Only PL(play) should be used.

End Action: What the event will do when it ends. Only ST(stop) should be used.

Event Message: This field will display error messages from the Video Source device. This will also be displayed in the Status field of a playlist.

Backup Event Message: This field will display error messages from the Backup Video Source device.

 

Traffic Tab

The traffic tab primarily displays information sent over about the event from ProTrack. When manually creating a new event in an RPX list, most of these fields can be left blank. Comment and FCC type should be given values.

 


 

Title: Not used

Comment: This is the text that will be displayed next to an event’s times in the Playlist, usually the program/interstitials title.

Traffic Event ID: This is a number that is created by Crispin when it receives a list, and is used to facilitate live updates from ProTrack.

Traffic Start Time: Scheduled event start time in ProTrack

Traffic Duration: Scheduled event duration in ProTrack


FCC Type: What type of event is scheduled.

Playback Tab

The playback Tab contains most of the fields that control how a playlist event will playout.

 

Material ID: The material ID for a file being played black. Can be either the ID for a Primary or a Secondary event.

Media Locator: Not used.

Video Source: For primary and secondary events that are playing back a file, this determines where that file is played out. For primary events that are using a router source, that source would be selected here. May be typed in or chosen from the drop down menu. Not all valid options are listed in the drop down.

Audio Source: Audio playout source, defaults to the Video Source.

Backup Video Source: For primary and secondary events that are playing back a file, this determines where a backup will be playing. Should match video source with ‘_BU’ at the end. Primary events with Router sources should be set to NONE.

Backup Audio Source: Audio backup playback device, defaults to Backup Video Source.

 

Transition Rate: Determines the speed of the transition. This field can be left blank. Normal Values are:

Transition Type: Determines how the event is transitioned in and out. Primarily used by Secondary events. Permissible values are:

Playback Rate: Not used.

 

Record Tab

The record tab is used to supply information about how a record event is supposed to occur. This tab should only be filled in on events in the Record list.

 

Material ID: The Material ID entered in this field, determines the filename of the recording

Media Locator: Not used.

Rec Video Source: Determines which record device is being used.

Rec Audio Source: Record device for audio, defaults to Rec Video Source.

Rec Bkup Video Source: Second record device to be used.

Rec Bkup Audio Source: Second record device for Audio, defaults to Rec Bkup Video Source.

Input Switcher Level: N/A

Output Switcher Level: N/A
